These verses mean a lot to me as they were the last Bible reading my late Father made in Church the Sunday before he was tragically killed in a road traffic accident. They also just about sum up the kind of man he was – generous with his love, time and help. Thankyou.

I have often looked back on my life and given thanks to God for the prayers that He DIDN’T answer! I am so glad that He knows better than I do what I really need and what my heart truly desires. And I find comfort in the Scripture passage found in 1 John 4:14-15, which says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” So basically, I am totally assured when I pray. If it is not His will, He will let it fall away. If it is His will, He hears me and will answer. As God’s child, I can’t lose!

His word can dwell in us if we think of it daily. What we think about matters to our ways of life. A good reference to this is a book called “As A Man Thinketh” by James Allen. May God help us and remind us of His words daily.

Thank you for this wonderful, timely reminder. This same God who has carried us thus far will surely continue to keep us in His hands. He has promised to “never leave us nor forsake us.”

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Lord, forgive me for the times that I have not trusted You to fulfil my needs and keep me safe. You are fully trustworthy, and I pray for an increase of faith to believe all Your promises, in Jesus’ Name.

@ jared: Am not surprise to see your response. Tithing is a thing a lot of people don’t understand and my prayer always is that God will unveil peoples’ eyes to see the importance of it. I am a true living testimony of it in a lot of ways. A lot of things in the scripture requires spiritual understanding via the Holy Spirit, in whom I speak to everyday and I receive answers. So understanding is a thing of inequality as it is written, BUT THE NATURAL MAN DOES NOT RECEIVE THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD, FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS TO HIM; NEITHER CAN HE KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. 1CO 2:14
