Accept His offer to rescue you

rescueThe church's pastor slowly stood up walked over to the pulpit and, before he gave his sermon for the evening, he briefly introduced a guest minister who was in the service that evening.

In the introduction, the pastor told the congregation that the guest minister was one of his dearest childhood friends and that he wanted him to have a few moments to greet the church and share whatever he felt would be appropriate for the service. With that, an elderly man stepped up to the pulpit and began to speak.

A father, his son, and a friend of his son were sailing off the pacific coast,' he began.’  When a fast approaching storm blocked any attempt to get back to the shore. the waves were  so high, that even though the father was an experienced sailor, he could not keep the  boat upright and the  three were swept  into the ocean  as the boat capsized'. The old man hesitated for a moment, making eye contact with two teenagers who were, for the first time since the service began, looking somewhat interested in his story.

The aged minister continued with his story, 'grabbing a rescue line, the father had to make the most excruciating decision of his life: to which boy would he throw the other end of the life line. He only had seconds to make the decision. The father knew that his son was a Christian and he, also, knew that his son’s friend was not. The agony of his decision could not be matched by the torrent of waves as the father yelled out, 'I love you, son!'

He threw out the life line to his son's friend. By the time the father had pulled the friend back to the capsized boat, his son had disappeared beneath the raging swells into the black of night. His body was never recovered. By this time, the two teenagers were sitting up straight in the pew, anxiously waiting for the next words to come out of the old minister’s mouth. 'The father, he continued, 'knew his son would step into eternity with Jesus and he could not bear  the thought  of  his  son's friend  stepping  into  an eternity  without  Jesus..  Therefore, he sacrificed his son to save the son’s friend.  ‘How great is the love of god that he should do the same for us. Our heavenly father sacrificed his only begotten son that we could be saved. I urge you to accept His offer to rescue you and take a hold of the life line he is  throwing out to you in this service. With that, the old man turned and sat back down in his chair as silence filled the room.

The pastor again walked slowly to the pulpit and delivered a brief sermon with an invitation at the end. However, no one responded to the appeal. Within minutes after the service ended, the two teenagers were at the old man's side. 'T hat was a nice story,' politely stated one of them’, but I don't think it was very realistic for a father to give up his only son's life in hopes that the other boy would become a Christian.'

Well, you've got a point there’, the old man replied, glancing down at his worn bible. A big smile broadened his narrow face. He once again looked up at the boys and said, 'it sure isn't very realistic, is it? But, I'm  standing  here  today  to tell  you  that  story  gives  me  a  glimpse  of what  it  must  have  been  like  for  god  to  give up  his  son  for  me.  You see...

I was that father and your pastor is my son's friend.
Take 60 seconds and give this a shot. He’s waiting for you!

Have a wonderful day.

Forgive one another.

19 HE WAS WOUNDED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS, HE WAS BRUISED FOR OUR INIQUITIES; THE CHASTISEMENT FOR OUR PEACE WAS UPON HIM, AND BY HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED. ISAIAH 53:5ISAIAH 53:5
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. wounded: or, tormented stripes: Heb. bruise

Indeed we are healed of our transgressions, and iniquities through the forgiveness of our sins. For it is written; HE HAS DELIVERED US FROM THE POWER OF DARKNESS AND CONVEYED US INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON OF HIS LOVE, IN WHOM WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. COLOSSIANS 1:13-14COLOSSIANS 1:13-14
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: his...: Gr. the Son of his love 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

When we think about how much forgiveness God shows oward mankind, let us remember the words of our Savior Jesus Christ, as he hung on the cross, "FATHER, FORGIVE THEM, FOR THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY DO." So let those words be an example for you when you find yourself angry with another! LUKE 23:34LUKE 23:34
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

After all it is also written: IF YOU FORGIVE MEN THEIR TRESPASSES, YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER WILL ALSO FORGIVE YOU. BUT IF YOU DO NOT FORGIVE MEN THEIR TRESPASSES, NEITHER WILL YOUR FATHER FORGIVE YOUR TRESPASSES. MATTHEW 6:14-15MATTHEW 6:14-15
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

So, if you have been angered by another, why not try to forgive them instead of holding a grudge. After all your heart and mind will be at peace when you do! Amen.

Have a wonderful day.

He His Always There For You. Do You Need Him?

SO THE KING GAVE THE ORDER, AND THEY BROUGHT DANIEL AND THREW HIM INTO THE LION'S DEN.* DANIEL 6:16DANIEL 6:16
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

WP-Bible plugin
*NIV*

The Aramaic word for "DEN" means pit, thus implying that it was underground.

There are times that we may feel just like poor Daniel did when he was thrown into the lion's den. However, just like Daniel our faith will come to our rescue as well!

After all; HE WHO DWELLS IN THE SHELTER OF THE MOST HIGH WILL REST IN THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY. I WILL SAY OF THE LORD, HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS, MY GOD IN WHOM I TRUST. PSALM 91:1-2PSALM 91:1-2
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

91 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. abide: Heb. lodge 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Further God has said; "FEAR NOT, FOR I HAVE REDEEMED YOU; I HAVE CALLED YOU BY NAME; YOU ARE MINE." ISAIAH 43:1-2ISAIAH 43:1-2
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

43 1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God has also stated; "DO NOT FEAR, FOR I AM WITH YOU; DO NOT BE DISMAYED, FOR I AM YOUR GOD. I WILL STRENGTHEN YOU AND HELP YOU; I WILL UPHOLD YOU WITH MY RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND." ISAIAH 41:10ISAIAH 41:10
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

So when you feel like Daniel always; TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING; IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, AND HE WILL MAKE YOUR PATHS STRAIGHT. PROVERBS 3:5-6PROVERBS 3:5-6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Often people feel that they have committed a sin in the past that can not be forgiven. A sin that is so horrible that God could never forgiven them. This is simply not true! For; IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST AND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. 1 JOHN 1:91 JOHN 1:9
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

After all Jesus even forgave a thief on the cross, did He not? LUKE 23:40-43LUKE 23:40-43
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

. This is because when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, our past sins are cleansed from the Book of Life by the Precious Blood of our Savior Jesus Christ! For; IN HIM WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RICHES OF GOD'S GRACE THAT HE LAVISHED ON US WITH ALL WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING. EPHESIANS 1:7-8EPHESIANS 1:7-8
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

Therefore never feel that a sin you have committed in the past can not be forgiven, that simply is not true! For our Savior paid the price for the sin debt for the whole World on the cross! So, it can be said; WHO IS A GOD LIKE YOU, WHO PARDONS SIN AND FORGIVES THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE REMNANT OF HIS INHERITANCE? YOU DO NOT STAY ANGRY FOREVER BUT DELIGHT TO SHOW MERCY. YOU WILL AGAIN HAVE COMPASSION ON US; YOU WILL TREAD OUR SINS UNDERFOOT AND HURL ALL OUR INIQUITIES INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA. Amen. MICAH 7:18-19MICAH 7:18-19
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
